Which dresses have built in bra-cups and are lined?Updated 2 months ago

Each dress is constructed specifically for the design of the dress to enhance the fit and look of it while you are wearing it. The most specific information on each dress can be found on it's specific product detail page.  There are however some general construction details that may help guide your shopping.

  • Generally strapless dresses, one shoulder ballgowns and any dresses structured with boning (corseted) will come with bra cups attached.  This does allow you to more easily wear the dress without a bra.  Some customers with larger chests regardless may still appreciate additional support and want to still opt for a strapless backless bra or shapewear for the best fit.
  • More casual and day dresses and fabrics like knit, ruffled mesh, chiffon and charmeuse do not usually have bra-cups attached to better allow the fabric to flow. Many of these dresses work well with different types of undergarments or regular bras.
  • Most Mac Duggal dresses are lined to improve the appearance, comfort, and durability. The lining gives a smoother more flattering appearance while wearing.   Technically, by adding a layer of fabric on the inside it prevents the outer fabric from clinging to the body, hides unfinished seams, protects the outer fabric from wear and tear, and can make sheer fabrics more opaque, giving a more polished look overall.
